Primary Pro Joint Covers

Why We Developed Primary Pro Joint Covers

When designing products at Primary Pro, one thing has always guided us: feedback from installers working in the real world.

Our insulation system was originally developed to make external heat pump pipe insulation easier, more durable and more professional. Over the years, thousands of installations have proven how effective the system is when installed correctly.

But as more installers began using Primary Pro across different types of installations and environments, we started hearing the same question:

“Could we have something that gives extra protection to the insulation joints?”

That feedback led to the development of Primary Pro Joint Covers.

Why Insulation Joints Matter

When insulating external pipework for air source heat pump installations, the joints between insulation sections are an important part of the system.

These joints are normally sealed using Primary Pro Bond & Seal, creating a strong and weather-resistant seal that prevents moisture from entering the insulation.

However, external pipework is constantly exposed to changing conditions:

For some installers, especially those working on exposed pipe runs, the idea of an additional layer of protection over the joints made sense.

Developed From Installer Feedback

At Primary Pro, we believe the best ideas often come directly from the people using our products every day.

Installers told us they wanted a simple way to add extra protection to insulation joints, particularly in areas where pipework might experience movement or where the installation is more exposed to the elements.

So we developed Primary Pro Straight Joint Covers and Elbow Joint Covers.

These covers fit neatly over insulation joints once they have been sealed, providing an additional protective layer while maintaining the clean and professional finish installers expect.

Extra Protection When You Want It

Joint Covers are designed to work alongside the existing Primary Pro insulation system, not replace it.

The insulation should always be installed and sealed correctly using Primary Pro Bond & Seal, following the installation guidance.

Joint Covers simply provide an additional level of protection for installers who want to reinforce the joint area.

They are particularly useful for:

Designed to Be Quick and Easy

Like all Primary Pro products, Joint Covers were designed to make life easier for installers.

They are quick to fit on site and integrate seamlessly with the insulation system, allowing installers to maintain a neat and professional finish while adding extra durability to the installation.

Supporting Professional Installations

Primary Pro has always been focused on helping installers deliver high-quality external heat pump pipe installations.

Joint Covers are another example of how installer feedback helps shape the products we develop.

By listening to the professionals working with our systems every day, we can continue improving the solutions available to the heating industry.

A System Designed for Installers

From Primary Pro insulation and Bond & Seal to sleeves, sealing rings and joint covers, every product in the system is designed to support professional installations.

And as the heat pump industry continues to grow, we’ll keep listening to installers and developing practical solutions that make installations easier, more reliable and more durable.
